First thing I've actually sat down and tried to draw in... months -_-; Just trying to get back into the swing of things really. Figured it was time I finally attempt to do some art again.
Drawn with pencil and paper then scanned in and colored in photohop.
Lines are bad especially on her face ><
It's supposed to look like there's trees overhead but I screwed it up a bit, hard to tell what all those blotches on the pic are but hey, I tried! hehe
The blanket was an afterthought, so it's hastily thrown in there and rather.. ugly lol
Uwa~! Absolutely AMAZING work.
The texturing of it is impressive. Although, I believe you used an FX tool for the grass, ne? Nevertheless, it looks fantastic.
Wonderful use of shading, especially on her hair. The fact that you used, white, shades of grey and black really distinguishes a prominent texture. Except, I have to point out that some of your shading is very much scattered... what I mean is that you seen to have more than one light source. I know that she's supposed to be under a tree, and there's a sun above her which is partly blocked by leaves, but, that's the thing, there's only one light source, which seems to be (from your picture) coming from the top left-hand corner, and I come to this conclusion because of the prominent shadow on her neck. There should be a darker shading on the left part of her body/dress, and some on her right shoulder. Ahh, don't mind me. I'm being extremely nitpicky. And I'm not even an artist. -_-
I am curious as to what program you used to create this.
The flower on her hair is extremely well coloure O_o almost too real, in my point of view.
The blanket that she's lying on lacks some texturing and shading, but otherwise it looks okay. Although, hasn't got a fine quality compared to your character.
The leaves blocking out the sunlight are a good effect, but watch out because it may mean extra shading in some parts to depict a more ... "real" look to it.
You need a few more skin tones, but overall your colour tones are absolutely breathtaking and seemingly professional-like.
I hope that what I've said helps you, and I REALLY hope to see more of your work, it's stunning.

Thanks a lot for the well thought out critique I appreciate the comments ^^
Grass done by hand tedious and boring but oh well ^^ hehe.
I agree with everything you said. Especially the blanket >.>; lol. I just threw it in there at the last minute so she wasn't getting dirty on the ground hehe ^_~.
First thing I really drew since like sept. 04, if I had spent a little bit more time on it I probably could have fixed up some of it and thought out the lighting a bit more w. Oh well, next time ^^
No need for thanks, it's my pleasure! I hope that I've helped you a bit.
I'm surprised you replied. All those fantastic illustrators are often very stuck up and don't even bother replying. Which is an extremely rude gesture to others who are bothering to comment on their work... oh wells.
Holy crap, are you serious, the grass is done by HAND!? -_-; You're making me feel worse about MY drawing abilities ... although, I don't really have any, ahahaha!!! I prefer looking at others' work and commenting about them. It's always such a joy to hear from them
Ahahha, no, no, the blanket is good, I'm just a very nitpicky girl... brutally honest sometimes, which can be either good or bad, depending how you look at it. Hehe!!
First thing you drew since september? Whoa, your skills still haven't gotten rusty. Mine have. Ahahah. You did EXTREMELY well, and I'm glad to have been able to see such beautiful work. Even more honoured at the fact you bothered replying to me (unlike some ingrateful people...)
Much Love,

Send me your autograph in mail, so that when you become a famous cartoonist or something, I can brag that I knew you. LOL!

I love the overall piece, you've done an excellent job with the detailing of the hair. I also like the shading of the clothing and everything else, and I think the shadows works well too.
But I'm unable to pick out things that need fixing, I think you've done a great job. Also.. O.o You did the grass all by hand? eeep.. -dies-
I haven't enough smarts to critique your work (at least for today)...but I do like this. And as a side note, I'm living in Ch'town now, and I'll be getting your Kenshin back to you hopefully in the next week or two...I meant to earlier last week, but I hadn't the chance to get it...I promise, dear...I will soon....

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
